vomit and vibe magazine
a project is borned. so, frustrated with being frustrated, i decided to launch something that incorporates all of the things that make me happy: hip_hop, reading, public transit, and global domination. the result? www.metrotextual.wordpress.com
ta-daaaaaa!
i set a few of these babies free last night during the nuit blanche, and the success story of the evening went like this.
i got on a train with puke on it, kind of crowded, very smelly, everyone trying to avoid the puke (kinda had an almost lap dance from a skinny white dood at some point, guess he didn’t see me or mistook me for santa claus). unfortunately, it seems that this exposure of bodily fluid begets other base responses, so people start spitting in the car, and one person even lights up a cigarette immediately after exiting the doors.
the car empties, i leave my seat (stealthily leaving Pound #38 on the chair, directly in front of the puke) and observe as a young homie overlooks the sense-ations of upchuck because his curiousity about the blue and pink fiddy is stronger. he actually crosses the car, sits down, and flips through the magazine, carefully reading all the notes that i’ve written on the cover, as well as my card catalogue on the inside cover.
i can hardly contain my joy.
literacy in motion, literally and literally.
(i also dropped the hip_hop issue of waxpoetics in a crowded car at sherbrooke metro and the 14th anniversary edition of vibe on the green line in front of some goths)
