in the spirit of “things that white people love”, i had to write about an interesting experience i had last week when i tested out the tibetan resto on st.lo, OM. tibet is one of the most popular topics that white folk love to pontificate about, as evidenced by the pair of concerned do-gooders sitting in the window seat enjoying their meal/gossip session in which they masticated carefully whilst judging other white people about their “lack of awareness” on this awful situation. i also caught some cuteye, like, who was i to just come in and enjoy some noodles in the middle of their obviously spiritual experience? yet another case of white people trying to out-asian the asians….pure comic relief, or as amit would say, “that’s good material”.
so, party monster, i believe. but author? not quite. it’s worth the flip and the reader pre-screening test (i imagine it’s more fun than the scientology personality test) but other than that, it’s a browser at your local bookstore, walk away from any library that decides to purchase this for their lending collection.
